So,
how did this whole 'Call Project thing' begin anyway?
It was a Sunday morning in
Boonville Missouri as Stephanie, my wife, and I walked home from church.
It was spring of 1998 and the weather was beautiful.
As we strolled hand in hand I had a strong notion to collect Call
stories. While I don’t think this idea was necessarily a Higher Power Calling,
I do think it was a decent idea. At
that time in my life I was completing a writing project and looking for my next challenge. I took great
note of this idea and began research. Much to my surprise and delight, I
couldn’t find any books that did what I wanted to do.
The idea, as I held it, was to find snapshots (stories) of our Higher
Power intervening in our lives. When
I say 'our lives' I mean the lives of normal everyday people.
You know, people like you and me as we simply try to make it through
life. I wanted to tell and share
these tremendous events.
I don't recommend
waiting four years before embarking on a great idea yet that is what I
did. My wife and I were in
a transition period. We were moving
and building a house. We then were blessed with the birth of our daughter on
October 22, 2000. As life continued
we moved again. I changed jobs once
and then again. Our son was
born on January 26, 2002. It
was at this time, the birth of our son Nathan that I decided I needed to move on
the Call Project idea.
In closing, I wanted to again
