So, how did this whole 'Call Project thing' begin anyway?

It was a Sunday morning in Boonville Missouri as Stephanie, my wife, and I walked home from church.  It was spring of 1998 and the weather was beautiful.  As we strolled hand in hand I had a strong notion to collect Call stories. While I don’t think this idea was necessarily a Higher Power Calling, I do think it was a decent idea.  At that time in my life I was completing a writing project and looking for my next challenge.  I took great note of this idea and began research. Much to my surprise and delight, I couldn’t find any books that did what I wanted to do.  The idea, as I held it, was to find snapshots (stories) of our Higher Power intervening in our lives.  When I say 'our lives' I mean the lives of normal everyday people.  You know, people like you and me as we simply try to make it through life.  I wanted to tell and share these tremendous events.

I don't recommend waiting four years before embarking on a great idea yet that is what I did.  My wife and I were in a transition period.  We were moving and building a house. We then were blessed with the birth of our daughter on October 22, 2000.  As life continued we moved again.  I changed jobs once and then again.  Our son was born on January 26, 2002.   It was at this time, the birth of our son Nathan that I decided I needed to move on the Call Project idea.  Today, it is six years later, two children, seven jobs and three moves later to be exact but it's done. The book is complete! And, it is better than I could have ever imagined!

In closing, I wanted to again say thanks for visiting us at The Call Project. Please spread the word of this project to all of those you know.  Please share your story if you have one.  Look for and purchase a copy of the book both for your enjoyment and growth and to support much needed causes (the TCP charities).  Finally, pray for our success…Matt.

Don’t wait for leaders to emerge, do it yourself, one on one, person to person...Mother Theresa
