The Call Project

So, What's a Call?

“It was not you who chose me but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain.”  John 16:16

So, what is a Call?  For the purposes of this project, a Call is defined as a time when ‘God gets with us.’  This phrase, ‘God getting with us’ speaks to those times when God intervenes in one’s life.

Generally, these are times when God speaks directly to us in some form or fashion.  This intervention can be but is not limited to; a voice, a tugging or stirring of one’s heart, a moment of grace, an intense moment of calm, a dream or series of dreams and an event or chain of events that can only be explained as God’s direct intervention.  In some Call experiences, after the Call is recognized there is a period of struggle, as the individual decides to ignore or act on the Call.  While the Call itself can be termed ‘God getting with us’ we refer to this time of inner struggle as ‘us getting with God.’ It can be extremely tough to make a conscious decision to act on God’s direction.  This action usually it takes great courage and faith.
